Glazing is a term use to describe the covering whether it's glass or acrylic. One of the most important considerations in custom framing is the glazing (glass) covering your artwork. The right glazing provides the correct protection. The glazing should not only protect the artwork from dust but protect it from Ultra Violet light. Ultra Violet light, from all sources, whether direct sunlight or fluorescent lighting causes deterioration. It contributes to yellow and ghostly silver deposits may rise to the surface. If you look at the framed precious family photo on the Gallery page you can see the “ghostly silver deposits”. This has been caused by exposure to Ultra Violet light. At Framed Expressions Gallery we offer only Tru Vue glazing. With several options available, we will help you to select the correct glazing for you artwork.
