Glazing/Laminates
Glazing is a term used to describe the covering, whether it is glass or acrylic.

One of the most important considerations in custom framing is the glazing
(glass) covering your artwork.  The right glazing provides the correct protection.
The glazing should not only protect the artwork from dust but protect it from Ultra
Violet light.  Ultra Violet light, from all sources, whether direct sunlight or
fluorescent lighting causes deterioration.  It contributes to severe color loss and
paper embrittlement.  Photos may appear yellow and ghostly silver deposits may
rise to the surface.

At Framed Expressions Gallery we offer only Tru-Vue glazing.  With several
options available, we will help you to select the correct glazing for you artwork,

MUSEUM GLASS

Museum is the best glazing option for all framed works of art.  Museum glass is
the highest quality anti-reflective picture framing glass available in the industry.
Museum glass provides a nearly invisible glass while providing 98% UV
protection.  It allows the greatest amount of light through and the lowest light
reflection in the industry.  The best glazing option available for your artwork.

CONSERVATION CLEAR

Our standard glazing, providing 98% blockage of UV light, allowing your artwork
to show through.  Conservation clear does not have any reflection control.

POSTER GLASS

A thinner and lighter glass used primarily for less expensive posters.  This glass
does not provide any UV protection.

LAMINATES

Laminates are another option. Great for use in an area of high moisture, or
where breakage or weight is a concern.

Available in a Velvet or Canvas Texture. Velvet gives a smooth, non glare
surface.  Canvas provides a texture simulating canvas.  Gives artwork the
appearance of being painted on canvas.
